The Art Department at Edinboro University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and offers an opportunity for creative students to enhance their artistic and scholarly abilities and to develop careers in the visual arts at a reasonable cost. Edinboro University was founded in 1856 and has a strong tradition in teaching art. The Art Department is now one of the most comprehensive in the country, incorporating studio art, art education and art history at the undergraduate and graduate level. Degree programs are available in Applied Media Arts, Studio Art, Art Education and Art History.

A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Applied Media Arts or Studio Arts is available with concentrations in the following studio areas: Ceramics, Cinema, Drawing, Graphic Design, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Wood/Furniture. This diverse art program at Edinboro University is staffed with more than 35 full-time faculty members. The faculty are productive artists and scholars who were educated across the country and have a wealth of teaching experience.

The art studios and classrooms are centrally located in five buildings on the historic main campus of our beautiful 585 acre university. The campus provides the unique combination of a stimulating, safe, creative environment with the rural beauty of northwestern Pennsylvania.
